Andy Mathers grew up on Mercer Island, Washington and learned to practice law in downtown Seattle. He is married to his sweet wife Esther. They have four children and a mini yorkie named Iddy. Andy is an avid fly fisherman and snowboarder. He has fished most of the great salmon and steelhead rivers in Alaska, British Columbia, Washington and Oregon.
In 2004, he received his law degree from the University of Washington School of Law. Andy worked in both the government and private sectors before establishing his own practice in 2010.
Prior to private practice, Andy clerked for the Honorable John C. Coughenour in the United States District Court and the Honorable Charles Mertel in King County Superior Court in Seattle. A clerkship is an invaluable education into the practice of law.
Following his clerkships, he worked at one of the most reputable law firms in downtown Seattle - Ellis, Li & McKinstry. There he learned several areas of law (estate planning, corporate governance, criminal defense and personal injury) under the direct supervision of some of the best lawyers in Seattle.
“I dedicate my legal practice to drafting Wills and Trusts. After 14 years of practicing law, I have discovered that no other area of law is more important or more rewarding than estate planning. I have also realized that my gift is helping clients through this process with compassion and competence. This is the most challenging and ultimately satisfying legal process my clients will ever go through.
Estate Planning is about protecting your assets, your loved ones and planning for the future; but it is much more. It is about you, your unique story, your life’s savings, your values and beliefs and your hopes for the future. That is what I build into your Estate Plan.”
