Meet Andy

Andy Mathers grew up on Mercer Island, Washington and learned to practice law in downtown Seattle. He is an avid fly fisherman and has fished most of the great salmon and steelhead rivers in Alaska, British Columbia, Washington and Oregon. Sitting on the beach staring at the ocean is a close second to fishing.

In 2004, he received his law degree from the University of Washington School of Law. Andy worked in both the government and private sectors before establishing his own practice in 2010.

Prior to private practice, Andy clerked for the Honorable John C. Coughenour in the United States District Court and the Honorable Charles Mertel in King County Superior Court in Seattle. A clerkship is an invaluable education into the practice of law.

Following his clerkships, he worked at one of the most reputable law firms in downtown Seattle – Ellis, Li & McKinstry. There he learned several areas of law (estate planning, corporate governance, criminal defense and personal injury) under the direct supervision of some of the best lawyers in Seattle.

In 2010, Andy opened his own law firm. He continues to dedicate his law practice to estate planning and probate. Focusing on one practice area allows Andy to be an expert in his field. He loves what he does and enjoys putting together the perfect estate plan for each client.

We called Andy after reading other positive reviews on Yelp. He helped us with estate planning and creating a living trust and pour over will. When we met with Andy, he clearly explained the available options that best met our requirements, what we needed to do, how he would help, and how much it would cost. I find him to be very professional, trustworthy, and efficient. Andy was also very responsive to all our questions and his fees were reasonable. He was easy to work with and alleviated a lot of stress. I highly recommend him.
